I was looking though the OOPSLA website a while back to pick a problem that would help me get some extra practice in design. I ended up picking that exact same problem you did. I’m curious to see the design you came up with. If you get the chance send me an e-mail will the description of your design. Perhaps we could compare our designs and make a better one.

hey skrud,

i have always thought that the biggest problems in software developement were social issue not technical ones.

i recently got my copy of Peopleware from amazon and it follows the same thought. if you haven't read it, you should give a shot. (also they have recently come down in price to about 30$ on the american amazon site, whereas it was at 70$ on amazon.ca)

i wish i could have heard kathy sierra talk in person.

I'm so happy you're able to attend, and slightly jealous that I'm no longer a student and couldn't get in on a volunteer basis.

In any case, this was really interesting. Chalin spoke a bit about how design patterns can be used to avoid the need to re-explain commonly-used concepts, but calling it the language of design is taking it a step further... I like it! Keep up with the updates, I'm living vicariously through you!
