Julia Stiles is a Hacker

Posted by Skrud at Sunday, February 11th 2007 at 4:45pm

I stumbled to an older issue of xkcd and immediately looked up this episode of Ghostwriter from 1993, where a 12-year-old Julia Stiles guest stars as a hacker.

Her speech is ripped straight out of Neuromancer. Awesome.

Nice. Loved Ghostwriter… Was that the one where she was the “Max Mouse” hacker?

    Man… I miss watching Ghostwriter.

I remember there was a hot girl… and I always wanted Are You Afraid of the Dark to merge and find out the origins of Ghostwriter and reveal him to be some child-editor from the Victorian era.

    Or something.

Ghostwriter. Sweet, just sweet. I actually read a Ghostwriter novel when I was a kid.

    Here it is:

    http://www.amazon.com/STEER-CLEAR-HAUNTED-HILL-Ghostwriter/dp/0553480871/sr=1-9/qid=1171255944/ref=sr19/002-1680189-4924008?ie=UTF8&s=books

They were quite interesting, because the book had two covers, and you’d read it from Alex and Gaby’s perspectives (you’re reading their diaries). They went on a camping trip, when they found a cabin that was missing from their map… It was very interesting how you got the story for two perspectives, and how you really felt the dynamics of all the relationships by reading it twice. Then, the middle of the book was when they meet up and solve the mystery.

By the way, here’s a mystery for you in the cover: Ed A. Hunt is an anagram of HAUNTED! I’ll stop talking now.
