No Vacancy

I came downtown to study today … and it seems that downtown is full. Not just the library or the H building, mind you, I mean all of downtown. That includes coffee shops. There are people studying all over the place … it’s ridiculous. And for some reason the Second Cup in Le Faubourg picked this week to begin renovating, so they’re closed. That’s a dumb move, because that means the studying students are simply going to go elsewhere, and there are many Starbuck’s in between Le Faubourg and the next Second Cup.

I finally did get some good studying done at Nefertiti with some shisha and mint tea by my side …. but still. I don’t like studying at Loyola because it’s freaking annoying. I get fed up really easily and then I go waste time in the Mac lab. Now I’m at a lab in the Hall building, but dammit! I need to study!

I was productive in the laptop-buying market today, though! I got my credit limit increased to handle the cost of a new Powerbook. The Visa people said that it usually takes 24 hours so I’d have to check tomorrow… an hour later when I got to school, it had already gone through. I also verified my student status with Apple so that I can get myself a sweet developer discount, and that was processed in only a couple of hours as well. :D

I’m still going to hold out until Tiger gets released (Friday) before I place the order. That’s only four more days … (Meanwhile, I have exams on both Wednesday and Thursday). So… Four days and counting until laptop-time. Let’s hope I can show some restraint until then…
